Things to do in Soller Train
No holiday to Majorca’s complete without a ride on one of its most famous landmarks, the Soller Train. This historic railway has been on the go since 1912, shuttling people between Palma and the laidback town of Soller for over 100 years. The journey between the two is about 27 kilometres long, most of which weaves through the Serra de Tramuntana Mountains, meaning you’re treated to incredible views of Majorca’s countryside. You’ll definitely want to bring a camera when you ride it – don’t worry about missing anything, either, the train’s fitted with huge windows to ensure your view is the best it can be.

Reviews Soller Train
“It was very rushed, when arriving at a location we was allocated between 10 and 30mins, except for the cove location where we had more time, but the guide warned us numerous times about how bad the pickpockets were, leaving us feeling vulnerable. This cove was the only place we could get food from during the day, in a place we was told not to get our money out. If it was so bad why was we taken there? Overall as mentioned it was far too rushed and not enjoyable”
“Not long enough at the monastery or enough made of the beautiful journey over the mountains. Information given by the guide in English was a poor second to that in German. So much so that English sentences were often not completed but broken by her lurching into German, sometimes Dutch? The trip was too long at 11 hours!”
“The guide was efficient but not friendly. Gave very little information about the island or what we were seeing but detailed information about the days timetable. We Didn't get chance to see any of Soller, herded like cattle from train to tram to boat with no time for toilet, cigarette or a drink. Lunch stop was far too long only restaurants and no shops nothing to see. Monastery was beautiful but not enough time to fully enjoy. Would not recommend especially for that with reduced mobility.”
“The 3 places visited were beautiful. However the pick up took over an hour on top of the journey to Valldemossa. Total journey was 2.5 hours. Information from the guide was limited on the way and non existent on the way back unfortunately which was a shame as we could have heard all about the beautiful island.”
